VP of Policy and Compliance

Lone Star Ag Credit, headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is looking for a VP of Policy and Compliance.  This position will access, develop and implement processes and controls designed to ensure sound business practices and that ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations governing all aspects of credit and administrative operations of the Association.

• Ensures the board of directors and committees have in place a complete and comprehensive set of policies and that the policies comply with regulations and that any reporting required in the policies is complete and timely.  Serves as the Association's liaison to interact and correspond (with direction from the board, its committees and other corporate management) to internal and external auditors, credit reviewers and examiners.
• Serves as management's control to ensure broad compliance with all Association procedures and if and when a lack of compliance and/or inadequate procedures are resulting in potential risks, take actions to ensure steps are taken to achieve compliance or improve procedures.  Works with management in planning and executing risk assessments and controls evaluation for existing and new processes and systems.
• Develops a process for annual review of board policies.
• Ensures the adequacy, completeness and comprehensiveness of the Association's procedures in the credit and administrative areas.
• Assists the board and the CEO in ensuring save and sound bylaws are in place and compliance is achieved.
• Assists the board and the CEO in ensuring sound governance practices are in place and functioning properly.
• Monitors regulatory changes and program compliance to assist and ensure management's awareness and adjustments to maintain adherence.
• Assist in training of policy and procedural topics across organizational functions.
• Develop comprehensive understanding of the breadth of organizational objectives in order to assure compliance is addressed appropriately.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Agricultural Economics or a related field and five (5) to seven (7) years of experience in lending, credit review, and/or auditing.  CPA, CIA or similar certification in regulatory and institutional policy compliance is preferred.  Experience in legal matters involving policy and regulation is preferred.
• Specialized knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and Farm Credit Administration (FCA) regulations, banking administration and reporting, and accounting/financial risk management practices and principles.  Skill in oral and written communication, intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications.  Good interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communications skills are required.
