VP of IT
Responsible for directing the information technology function for the association, including establishment and administration of I.T. goals and policies; analyzing the technology needs of departments; and providing strategic planning for computer hardware and software requirements.
Lone Star Ag Credit has approximately 140 employees and this Director/VP will have 2 to 3 direct reports. BENCHMARKED JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Establishes direction, goals, and policies of I.T. for the association. Assists association senior management in the planning process by determining I.T. resource needs and alternatives. 2. Audits and reviews systems and practices to ensure compliance with procedures, regulations and standards. 3. Evaluates software and hardware products for possible purchase. 4. Meets with vendors on new and existing products, evaluates usefulness and cost of products and makes recommendations. 5. Provides technical assistance on association issues, services, programs, and/or computer hardware and software, etc. 6. Aids in training needs assessments and recommends training programs. 7. Determines the resources needed to plan and implement I.T. applications. Discusses requirements with end users and provides software suggestions and recommendations to users to help them understand potential limitations and challenges. 8. May supervise subordinate personnel including: determining workload and delegating assignments, training, monitoring and evaluating performance. Organization employee total 140 direct reports 2 or 3. 9. Assists with development and maintenance of the Association credit delivery system. 10. Leads and coordinates disaster recovery planning and testing processes, and administers date retention/recovery efforts. ADDITIONAL ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Responsible for purchasing association automobiles in accordance with policy and procedures. 2. May be responsible for maintenance of FCCS insurance. 3. Work closely with the CFO and CCO in the analysis of daily business functions and financial operations at all association offices. 4. Assist with association maintenance and inventory of assets. SKILL REQUIREMENTS: General knowledge of business systems software applications. Specialized knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems, networking, and security. Skill in oral and written communication. Skill in problem-solving including problem identification, fact-finding, research, analysis and solution development. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft personal computer operating and networking systems. Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to communicate complex information to a non-technical audience. WORKING RELATIONSHIPS: Frequent interaction with association departmental staff and management. Frequent interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff. Frequent interaction with Association senior management, CEO, and/or board of directors. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES: Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Ability to walk for moderate distances. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force. POLICY AND COMPLIANCE: Compliance with FCBT and Association technology and security standards is required. ESSENTIAL SECURITY AND COMPLIANCE FUNCTIONS: 1. Help to ensure that IT resources (data, applications and infrastructure) are kept secure from unauthorized access and use. 2. Report any security related concerns to senior IT Management. 3. Participate in ongoing security related training as approved by management. 4. Keep informed of and follow Standards and Procedures as presented in the IT'S&P and the FCBT General Computer Controls. 5. Work with IT compliance to ensure all assigned operational compliance responsibilities are carried out in an efficient manner and report any compliance concerns to senior IT Management.
