Sr Financial Analyst

Performs senior-level analysis work; financial and portfolio reporting; ad-hoc reporting; and monthly reporting work. Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates future financial systems and needs. Fully competent senior-level professional with advanced technological skill-sets; assignments are broad and complex in nature requiring originality, ingenuity, and leadership, has appreciable latitude for decision making, works under minimum supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Works independently to compile, create and analyze financial information for the Association ensuring the validity and accuracy of data.
• Works independently to develop analyses, projections, reports, and presentations utilizing appropriate data mining techniques and methodologies within the reporting environment.
• Independently accesses, imports, extracts or consolidates data across various data sources to create financial and management reports.
• Identifies trends and developments and presents findings to management.
• Develops data reports for the Associations loan portfolios and designs information binders for monthly board meetings.

OTHER DUTIES: 

• Assists in the preparation of required audit reporting, including the Annual Audited Financial Report.
• Performs financial analysis, monitoring and due diligence review of various financial packages and loan originations for the Association and other reports as requested by management.
• Assists in the preparation of daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly ALLL analysis.
• Owner of the budget and forecast system and the development of cost center reports.
• Assist in the preparation of the Annual Business Plan.
  

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Specialized knowledge of accounting and financial systems, as well as advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, utilizing SQL database reporting tools and business systems software applications. Specialized knowledge of data mining methodology. Demonstrated skill in problem-solving including problem identification, fact-finding, research, analysis and solution development. Ability to understand and interpret data sources to ensure integrity and accuracy to users. Knowledge of accounting/finance principles. Skill in oral and written communication. Ability to perform complex accounting/financial analyses under minimal supervision. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for limited periods of time. Ability to walk for moderate distances. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

Frequent interaction with association departmental staff and management. Occasional interaction with Farm Credit Bank of Texas staff. Occasional interaction with area professionals including real estate agents, commercial bankers, and others who deal with the association in the normal course of business.
