Loan Documentation Specialist
Lone Star Ag Credit, headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, is looking for Loan Documentation Specialist, preferably in the Fort Worth are, but will consider the Paris/New Boston area. This position is responsible for the collection and verification of necessary documents for loans. Prepares loan closing documents, forms, notices and loan reports. May work with large complex loans. May provide leadership and/or mentoring to subordinates. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
DUTIES:
- Reviews commitments for title insurance to substantiate adequacy of the title to meet regulatory and Association requirements.
- Organizes loan closing requirements and instruments in compliance with all Bank and Association policies, procedures, and regulations; ensures all requirements are met prior to closing and assists branch in meeting the date and time for the loan closing.
- Assembles and compiles documents for closing, such as insurance forms, loan forms, and flood certificates; examines loan applications and closing documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Research borrower/collateral history including tax lien and judgment search (if not performed by the title company); processes UCC filing, searches, and billing.
- Verifies sufficiency of legal description of the security of the collateral.
- Prepares loan closing statements verifying net loan proceeds, loan maturity dates, and initial interest and principal repayment dates; requests and approves loan proceeds (wire transfers) and verifies receipt of funds by the title company.
- Prepares various documents to meet consumer and non-consumer requirements (i.e. Farm Credit Act, Regulation B, Regulation C, Regulation X and Regulation Z).
- Reviews post-closing documents such as title policies, deeds of trust, assignments and additional collateral; ensures that all documents have been properly signed, witness and notarized by all required individuals.
- Organizes loan servicing requirements and instruments in compliance with all Bank and Association policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Reviews loan/servicing documents for less skilled Loan Documentation Specialists.
- Prioritizes workflow and performs other administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, scanning, etc.
- Updates and maintains files; acquires proficiency in filing and retrieving documents electronically; sorts, codes, and files materials; maintains established files and records in accordance with internal policies and procedures.
- Supports the efforts of the records retention function and assists with scanning and organization of documentation to be retained.
- Records new loans, establishes relevant files, and maintains a variety of loan records. Monitors the booking of loans and verifies the accuracy of the database. Responds to loan servicing requests. Assists with customer service inquiries and complex problems. Performs work under minimal supervision.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma plus five (5) or more years of professional experience.
- Specialized knowledge of terminology related to legal descriptions and documentation of real personal property.
- Specialized knowledge of title commitments/policies and underwriting standards related to title examination. Specialized knowledge of association bylaws, policies, and procedures. General knowledge of accounting/financial systems. General knowledge of accounting/finance principles. Skill in oral and written communication. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications.
